On Monday, Google announced a couple of updates for everyone that its integrated collaboration and communication service through Google Workspace.
In today’s era, almost 3 billion-plus company users over the enterprise, consumer, and education have access to the complete experience of Google Workspace, including Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Chat, Google Meet, Google Sheets, and more.
In addition, Google announces the new integrations that challenge the specific opportunities of the hybrid world work. Soon we will have the option to switch Gmail, chat, and documents to the newest workplace of Google. We can easily merge them all into a single tab.
VP and GM of Google Workspace Javier Soltero said “Our focus is on delivering consumers, workers, teachers, and students alike an equitable approach to collaboration, while still providing a flexibility that allows these different subsets of users to take their approach to communication and collaboration,”
Firstly, Google has now officially announced a setting for all users to enable the Google chat. Google chat messages like chat rooms and direct messages are completely our choice. Although Google is now offering new terms with the latest announcement. Which is “Evolution of Google Chat from Room to Space”.
Workspaces are necessary the same as chat rooms, but Google wants to switch them in the form of communication next to Gmail, Meet, and Chat. Google has many new features including advanced emoji reaction, message threads, moderation tools, user roles, and discoverable spaces. Spaces will work as a Slack or seems like a mail group.
Google also announced the security feature for everyone that it will allow the users to manage their own secure and encrypted keys. For now, Google encrypts our data and manages the secure key for us. To secure the data, we want to bring our encryption keys. So for now Google has now merged with secure service providers like Flowcrypt, Thales, Virtru, and Futurex to authorize this.
In the previous announcement Google directors of product management Erika Trautman and Karthik Lakshminarayanan writes “With Client-side encryption, customer data is indecipherable to Google, while users can continue to take advantage of Google’s native web-based collaboration, access content on mobile devices, and share encrypted files externally,”
